Prior to the recent renovation food here was bad however since the renovation and possibly new management? We have been five times now and the chicken, popcorn chicken and chicken sandwiches have been most excellent. We did takeout so I didn't rate atmosphere.

Food was excellent and the service spot on! Everything from the appetizer and beverages were delivered on time, with a smile, and at the correct temperature. The server was quick to check if we were satisfied and/ or required anything else without being intrusive and immediately cleared any empty dishes. A completely enjoyable outing for my wife and I. I went there with no expectations, and was agreeably surprised. Service was fast. We made our first order (a mix of many things) and everything was brought to the table as it was ready so we were able to start eating. Food was great; service was great. We did order a bit too much too fast, so a tip would be to not order too much food at first, and to re-order more often smaller quantities. I'm not a huge sushi connoisseur; but for the average person looking for sushi and bang for your buck, this place is great. Their Saturday lunch all-you-can-eat is only 14.99.

Our party of 6 sat out on the patio for our supper on a beautiful sunny day at the end of May. The service was good and for the most part the food was ok except for two out of our party who ordered the hamburgers.
Its disappointing that they can't make the effort to make their own patties. Espcially considering our wait time. Its not like the food was served super fast. In fact, it took a while but we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush.
Anyways, the burger patties are the kind of processed "precooked" patties that you can buy in the frozen food section at a grocery store. Rubbery and very off putting. A disappointment!
I had the NY strip steak, not bad but I ordered rare and it wasn't rested when they served it. Not a big deal.
We also had the calamari, zuccini sticks and patotoe skins for appetizers. All passable but nothing to write home about.
I'd go back again for a drink and an appetizer but I probably wouldn't have a meal. I love the pub inside, very old school british pub feel. I think it would be cosy in the winter. The patio has a great view and is a nice place to go for a drink.

This was my first time here……wow….everything was delist! I had the prime rib beef dip…amazing! Also the sweet potato fries accompanies the sandwich. The serving was hugh, and couldn’t eat it all. But hubby helped, lol
As for the dessert, I couldn’t resist, I know…no dessert if you don’t finish your plate! My sister highly recommended the peanut butter cheese cake….I just had to have it! OMG…..it was the best, yummy! The setting was quiet and homemee, One thing…you should reserve!

I am new to SFs (3 yrs). Man Ling Restaurant is the only Chinese restaurant (except for 1 in Brockville) that I eat at, for a number of reasons:
First all of their food is MSG-free, is fabulous and always fresh (nothing heated up from 2 hours ago). The best egg rolls ever and my favourite is beef and green peppers. I have eaten there over 25 times and it's always perfect. Hats off to Man Ling. Don't forget the service, relaxed and friendly staff. My favourite restaurant of all time (a 10).

Philos IS the best restaurant, for it's food, in Cornwall! The owners, chefs, and the waiters/waitresses are always so friendly and obliging! They go out of their way to serve you the meal that you want.
I have read all of the reviews on this website because I care about what kind of review is being given to a restaurant that works so hard to please. It would seem to me that you can not please some with a "pleasing machine"!
